Hi there!
In this quick tutorial, you are going to learn how to create an LUN in Netapp.
I also don’t want to write too much because this guide is going to be long enough.
The first step is to open “On the command ” and create the new aggregate,
Follow the steps:
- Create
- Next
Aggregate name::
Here we need to select the available disk from NETAPP
I have selected 4 disk
Create
The aggregate created:
The next step is to create volume, as you know the order is AGG > VOL > LUN
I assigned to the Volume 40MB, Continue with creating.
Before we create an LUN we must create QTREE (via Qtree we can apply quota and more option on VOLUME)
Browse:
Select the VOLUME we have created:
The last step is to create the LUN “Create”
LUN name, LUN size:
Select existing volume or QTREE for this LUN:
here we have to create the initiator group.
I called it “TEST”
Open initiator TAB and specify the IQN of destination server:
In order to know the IQN of the server on the server you want to assign the LUN you have to open “ISCSI INITIATOR” and on General TAB you will see the “Initiator Name”
Paste IQN here
MAP
Good, now we need to open the server and open the ISCSI INITIATOR again and make the connection between client-server, On Windows Server 2008 R2 you have added NETAPP Filer to the server.
“Add Portal” :
Filer (NETAPP) IP and Port 3260
After that you can see my volumes connected:
You just need to initialize disks
